Parent Commitment
Please read the following information carefully.
Before completing this application, it is recommended that you:
- Attend a parent meeting about the program at the campus you want your child to attend.
- Discuss the program in detail with the principal and/or Emergent Bilingual Programs Department's contact person.
As a parent, I commit to:
- Continuously enroll my child in the Two-Way Dual Language Program at the school up through grade 5.
- Work collaboratively with the school to ensure that my child is provided the support and encouragement at home to complete the program through grade 5.
- Support my child in developing biliteracy and content knowledge.
- Support and encourage my child to do his/her best every school day.
- Attend parent conferences, workshops, and support the school by participating in school activities.
- Communicate frequently with the classroom teacher.
- Ensure my child and I understand the goals of the Two-Way Dual Language Program.
I understand that …
- the admission is based on a lottery system.
- students will be given the following priority order during the selection process:
- students of FWISD district employees living in the school’s attendance zone with siblings
at the campus.
- students living in the school’s attendance zone with siblings at the campus.
- students of FWISD district employees living in the school’s attendance zone without
siblings at the campus.
- students living in the school’s attendance zone without siblings at the campus.
- students of FWISD district employees who live in the district, but outside the school’s
attendance zone, with siblings at the campus
- students living in the district, but outside of the school’s attendance zone, with siblings
at the campus.
- students of FWISD district employees living outside of the district with siblings at the
campus.
- students living outside the district with siblings at the campus.
- students of FWISD district employees living in the district, but outside the attendance
zone, without siblings at the campus.
- students living in the district, but outside the attendance zone, without siblings at the
campus.
- students of FWISD district employees living outside of the district without siblings at the
campus.
- students living outside of the district without siblings at the campus.
- students not selected will be placed on a waiting list in the order they are ranked during the selection process. Note: A twin brother or sister not selected by the lottery will be automatically placed at the top of the wait list.
- the wait list will be active until the last day of the first six weeks of school year.
- this application does not replace the Fort Worth ISD registration/enrollment application.
- transportation is not provided by the district.
- falsifying information on the application will invalidate and exclude my child from the program.
